Disaster / Emergency Preparedness
Dependable Home Care has given much consideration to handling of emergency and disaster events. Some of our documented responses are drawn from real experience, having been a home health care provider operating in the New York City area for over twenty years. Fortunately, we've not had to cope with all the emergency events we've documented.
The procedures in the Emergency / Disaster Preparedness document are reviewed anually and revised as needed. All of our staff have a copy of this document, and are required to read it periodically. In the event of disaster, the procedures in place ensure that the patients in our care are not abandoned.
As a home health care recipient, our patients have clearly defined right. Our Patient Bill of Rights document clearly states those rights so that our patients can be informed. The document also has agencies to contact should the feel that their rights have not been respected. The document also states the patient's responsibilities in seeing to it that those rights are respected, and that our staff can continue to serve them with the best possible care.
